Beginning with no fewer than seven different code bases for Android Tablet, Android Phone, iOS Tablet, iOS Phone, mDot mobile web, tDot Tablet Web and Desktop web, the goal was to bring homedepot.com to a single-codebase responsive solution.
Challenges included bringing all stakeholders in, building the right team, developing the responsive framework, engineering the CMS platform, designing the pattern libraries and creating a custom web-font from scratch.
Fourteen months later, we relaunched one of the world’s largest retail websites as an adaptive/responsive hybrid single-codebase site. Cleaner, leaner and ready for business.
